Research Purpose
The purpose of this study was primarily to determine how South African government websites incorporate accepted accessibility and usability standards into their designs. It will attempt to answer the following questions:
- Who commissions the government websites?
- Who decides what the websites should contain?
- Who keeps the websites up to date?
- What are the objectives of the websites?
- Who are the users? For whom were the websites developed?
- What usability and/or accessibility issues were considered during the development of the websites, if any?
The study will try to identify the usability and accessibility problems of the websites and determine how they can be addressed.
